Cellular Media Distribution powered by BE Mobile started in 1999 with the launch of TraveltoSA.mobi. Eleven years later the Group is now the largest and fastest growing online mobile business in SA and a Top 10 player in its sector. They are providing web services mainly in Travel & Accommodation sector. CMD offers full spectrum of travel portal development and integration services and a combination of various services and add on features.

 

REASON FOR ENGAGEMENT

Cellular Media Distribution wants to revamp their existing web service solution that helps users in Africa to search the latest deals from Travel and Accommodation. These services were implemented in 2009 and upgraded over the years but is now in need of being upgraded fully to accommodate for all handset users and tablets, in other words this service is modulised to accommodate cross operating systems and cross country services.

STRATEGY

We re-designed current service offering and functionality, in essence, to allow for A PLUG AND PLAY SERVICE THAT CAN BE APPLIED ACROSS ALL COUNTRIES, in all languages, on all MOBILE devices that can be modified by adding or removing PLUG-IN’s as and when they are required. As a solution for the web service we provided one platform that can accommodate various countries that this site operates

USER CENTRIC DESIGN

Limited screen space, slow page loads and no JavaScript support are just some of the factors that make design for low-end mobile devices a lot more complex than for traditional websites. We worked hard to ensure that the experience of browsing the information was both pleasant and efficient for mobile users.

Track Visits to site, Track page visits, Track sign/sign up details of users, Track shares on FB, Twitter and email, Social media integration (for FB, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Flickr) , Track trip basket saves, Click to call – plus track call for conversion, Click to Book, Promotional and competition plugins development, SMS solutions for notification, Communications Opt in to receive communications from the site to split between “Accept Marketing” and “Do not accept Marketing” for reporting

Automate the removal of the competition at 12am on the date the competition closes

Conversion to be increased by users sharing on social media on the site, including their deals, trip basket ideas, events, what’s hot, competitions as well as booking deals, experiences, registering on the site for future marketing of deals or campaigns that they may be interested in, referring the site to friends

Allow user to benefit from sharing competition on FB or Twitter or email to a friend by building functionality that we give the user an extra entry share type

Allow users to access each SAT site on ANY MOBILE device (whether it be smart, feature or tablet) and ensure a great user experience which provides a level of equal opportunity for all users to experience the same offerings from deals to competitions to promotions to experiences and events.

Allow SAT to change the competition details with ease and re-use continually so needs to be set up in a template format
