Our Client has been in retail market for close to 50 years. They got merged with another group in 2006 to create a stationery powerhouse store that sells everything an office needs including furniture’s groceries, printing and corporate gifts and clothing. They managed a well-stocked warehouse and had a fleet of delivery vehicles.

Client Requirement

The client was always looking for new opportunities to grow their business and as such they wanted to step into the online world by developing an E-commerce portal with trending features that help them boost their sales.

Some of the key requirements were as follows: Warehouse management, More than one Seller Account, Newsletter Management, Wish list, Analytics to track visitors to the site, Security & Encryption, Bundled Products, Reviews on products, Coupon system, Promotional tool, Integration with Google Content API to index all products via Google.

Approach

ECIT started gathering client requirement and came up with solution and technology, Magento. The reason for choosing Magneto was that it was one of the best e-commerce platforms available and moreover the client requirements could easily be built into the Magento. Client was satisfied with the approach ECIT had taken and thus the project got kicked off.

ECIT choose to get the community edition of Magento which was free and also contained almost all features based on the client requirement

Initial step was to choose a good template, a set of wireframes were created based on the requirements and it helped in choosing the template for the project. ECIT did some customisation on top of the template so that it could match the client requirements. Customization took about 80hrs before everything went for a thorough QC.

Result

A quick implementation of the project provided the client with enough time to get hands on with the site. Various scenarios were considered to test the site and its performance. Small tweaks and suggestions from the client were done which made the site more user friendly. The project was completed successfully and the day to day activities of the firm is automated now A neat looking informative dashboard was developed, upon the client request that contained their sales growth, accounts, etc.
